U.S. Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas has joined forces with Senator Pete Ricketts of Nebraska to lead a bipartisan resolution designating May 2025 as Renewable Fuels Month in the United States. Senator Marshall, known for his support of renewable fuels, expressed his commitment to this initiative by stating, “Renewable fuels are an important part of American energy, and I’m proud to join my colleagues in designating this month as Renewable Fuels Month.”

Senator Ricketts highlighted the benefits of renewable fuels such as ethanol and biodiesel, saying they “save consumers money, support Nebraska agriculture, protect our environment, and promote American energy independence.” He called on Americans to choose renewable fuels.

The resolution has garnered support from several other senators including Tina Smith from Minnesota, Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst from Iowa, Deb Fischer from Nebraska, and Jerry Moran from Kansas. Senator Grassley emphasized the role of biofuels in making America energy dominant under President Trump’s leadership. He stated that the resolution acknowledges the advantages of renewable fuels like boosting domestic markets for farmers and enhancing economic vitality.

Senator Ernst echoed these sentiments by supporting the designation of May as ‘Renewable Fuels Month’ and advocating for producers who deliver Iowa’s homegrown fuel. Similarly, Senator Fischer expressed her long-standing support for renewable fuels due to their impact on expanding markets for farmers and achieving energy independence.

In the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Zach Nunn is leading a companion resolution. He noted Iowa’s leadership in the biofuel industry and how recognizing May as Renewable Fuels Month underscores the role of biofuels in America’s energy growth.

The text of the resolution is available online.
