U.S. Senator Roger Marshall has announced a $500,000 funding award from the U.S. Department of Labor to the Workforce Alliance Center of South Central Kansas. This funding aims to support homeless veterans’ reintegration into society.

Senator Marshall stated, “As a veteran myself, I believe that our nation should do all it can to support those who have served their country.” He emphasized the importance of programs and opportunities in Kansas and the Wichita community that help homeless individuals learn skills and gain employment. The senator highlighted that the Workforce Alliance’s focus on veterans would provide unique services for this community.

The funding comes from several programs under the Department of Labor: the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP), Incarcerated Veterans’ Transition Program (IVTP), and the Homeless Women Veterans and Homeless Veterans with Children Reintegration Grant Program (HWVHVWC). These grants will equip the Workforce Center with necessary resources to assist veterans in overcoming challenges and re-entering the workforce.
