U.S. Senator Roger Marshall has expressed his support for the recent appointments of Gimmie Jo Jansonius and David Schemm to key positions within the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Kansas. Jansonius has been appointed as the USDA Rural Development (RD) State Director, while Schemm will serve as the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Director.

“President Trump has always prioritized rural America, and I applaud his selections for our state’s new USDA Rural Development and Farm Service Agency State Directors,” stated Senator Marshall. “As rural Kansans themselves, I’m confident that Gimmie Jo and David will be champions for our state.”

The roles of FSA and RD State Directors involve implementing policies aligned with President Trump’s America First agenda, focusing on economic prosperity in rural areas. Secretary Rollins commented on the appointments, saying, “When America’s farming communities prosper, the entire nation thrives. This new group of USDA appointees will ensure President Trump’s America First agenda is a reality in rural areas across the country.”

David Schemm, who previously held this position during Trump’s first administration, emphasized his commitment to efficient operations at Kansas FSA: “Kansas farmers and ranchers know the importance of having an efficient and effective operation is to their success.”

Gimmie Jo Jansonius expressed her enthusiasm about her new role: “As a sixth generation Kansan, I am excited for the opportunity to serve my state in delivering vital resources and opportunities to rural communities and businesses.” She highlighted her alignment with President Trump’s vision for a prosperous rural America.

Both Jansonius and Schemm bring extensive experience in agriculture to their roles. Jansonius’s family operates a ranching business involved in beef sales and crop farming. Meanwhile, Schemm works alongside his family on their Western Kansas farm.
