U.S. Senator Roger Marshall has expressed approval of the recent United States Supreme Court decision supporting Tennessee’s ban on puberty blockers and hormone therapy for minors. The ruling was described by Senator Marshall as a victory for “basic biology and common sense,” emphasizing the importance of “human decency, sound medicine, and the dignity and safety of children everywhere.”

Senator Marshall, who has a medical background spanning over 25 years, voiced concerns about the treatments, which he referred to as harmful and pushed by radical activists. He highlighted the potential for permanent scarring, sterilization, and other adverse effects associated with these procedures.

In line with his stance, Senator Marshall is advocating for legislation titled the No Subsidies for Gender Transition Procedures Act. This proposed legislation forms part of the President’s One Big, Beautiful Bill. It aims to prevent Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) from funding gender-transition procedures across all age groups. According to Senator Marshall, this measure could save taxpayers $2.5 billion over a decade while preventing irreversible surgical interventions that may result in significant health complications.

The senator reiterated his commitment to stopping taxpayer-funded transgender procedures for both minors and adults.
