U.S. Representative Sharice Davids, who serves Kansas’s 3rd district in Congress, addressed recent events and legislative initiatives in a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On April 11, Davids commented on a recent aviation tragedy: “67 people lost their lives in a plane collision near DCA, including Kansans. We owe their families more than words. We owe action. My bipartisan ALERT Act strengthens aviation safety.”
The following day, she highlighted the importance of local businesses with a visit to a bakery: “Great stop at @threebearsbakerykc! Small businesses like this are the heart of #KS03 — and I’ll keep working to make sure they can grow and thrive.” This statement underscores her ongoing support for small business growth within her district.
Later that same day, Davids addressed economic pressures facing farmers due to international developments: “Instability in the Middle East is driving up fertilizer costs, hitting our farmers and your grocery bill. My bipartisan bill brings transparency to fertilizer markets so farmers can plan ahead and lower costs.”
Sharice Davids has represented Kansas’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Kevin Yoder. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Her educational background includes a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (2007) and a JD from Cornell University (2010).
