Rep. Sharice Davids, who represents Kansas’ 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several key issues through her social media posts, including constitutional education, disaster relief efforts, and health care affordability.
On September 29, 2025, Davids commented on a discussion about the foundational legal framework of Congress: “Chatted with @99piorg about Article 1 of the Constitution — I know, try to contain your excitement. Turns out it’s actually pretty important for how Congress works! Listen here: https://t.co/sy6x5gBCax”.
The following day, she highlighted the impact of recent severe weather events in her state and her advocacy for federal assistance: “Severe storms hit Kansas hard in July. I joined our KS delegation to urge a disaster declaration so state & local communities can get the federal support they need to recover.” (September 30, 2025).
Later that same day, Davids raised concerns about potential increases in health care costs if existing tax credits under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) are not extended by Congress: “Millions of Americans could see their health care premiums jump 20% if Congress lets ACA tax credits expire. In #KS03, a family of four could pay $7K more. I’m calling on leaders from both parties to extend these savings — because families deserve certainty, not political games.” (September 30, 2025).
Sharice Davids has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Kevin Yoder as representative for Kansas’s 3rd District. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park at age 42. Davids earned her BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2007 and received a JD from Cornell University in 2010.
