U.S. Representative Sharice Davids, who has represented Kansas’ 3rd district in Congress since 2019, recently addressed several key issues affecting her constituents through a series of posts on social media.
On October 10, 2025, Davids emphasized her bipartisan efforts to address government operations and health care affordability. She stated, “I’m working to bring Democrats and Republicans together to reopen the government, keep health care affordable, and lower costs — because that’s what Kansans deserve.”
Later that same day, she highlighted concerns about potential increases in health care premiums if tax credits under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) were allowed to expire. In her post dated October 10, 2025, Davids wrote, “If ACA tax credits expire, health care premiums will rise by as much as 70% for thousands of Kansans. I’m working to ensure that doesn’t happen.”
On October 11, 2025, Davids recognized National Coming Out Day with a message supporting the LGBTQ+ community: “Happy National Coming Out Day! Proud to honor the resilience and courage of the LGBTQ+ community as we work toward a future where everyone can proudly live as their most authentic selves.”
Sharice Davids has served in Congress since defeating Kevin Yoder in 2019. Born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently residing in Roeland Park at age 42, she holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (BA) and Cornell University (JD).
