Rep. Sharice Davids, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Kansas’ 3rd district since 2019, has recently addressed issues affecting her constituents through a series of social media posts.
On October 18, 2025, Davids commented on the ongoing government shutdown, stating, “The federal workers who keep our country running aren’t bargaining chips in Washington’s political games. It’s time to reopen the government and let them get back to work serving Kansas families.”
The following day, on October 19, 2025, she discussed economic pressures faced by Kansans, particularly regarding the cost of groceries. Davids wrote, “Being raised by a single mom, I know what it means to stretch a dollar — and right now, grocery prices are too high. Kansans deserve real competition, not corporate greed. When small grocers thrive and families have choices, our whole economy works better.”
On October 20, 2025, Davids extended greetings to her district for Diwali, saying, “Wishing all in #KS03 celebrating the Festival of Lights a happy Diwali!”
Davids has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Kevin Yoder. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Her educational background includes a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a JD from Cornell University.
