Sharice Davids, U.S. Congresswoman representing Kansas’ 3rd district since 2019, commented on recent legislative developments and local events in a series of tweets posted between April 30 and May 1, 2026.
On April 30, Davids criticized House leadership for delaying the passage of a bipartisan deal affecting federal workers. She wrote, “I pushed to pass this a month ago. Instead, House leadership played games — risking paychecks for FEMA, Coast Guard, and TSA workers and slowing travel across the country. Today, they passed the SAME bipartisan deal. I’m glad it’s done, but it took too long.”
Later that day, she highlighted Kansas City’s role in the upcoming FIFA World Cup: “KC is about to make history at this summer’s @FIFAWorldCup. I’m making sure we’re set up for success.”
On May 1, Davids reaffirmed her commitment to economic inclusivity and healthcare affordability: “I believe in a country that works for everyone, not just the loudest or wealthiest few. That’s why I capped insulin at $35/month for seniors while bringing down the deficit by $1.9 trillion over two decades.”
Davids has represented Kansas’s 3rd District since defeating Kevin Yoder in 2019 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980, she holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (BA) and Cornell University (JD).
