Rep. Sharice Davids, U.S. Congresswoman representing Kansas’s 3rd district since 2019, has used her social media platform to address the impact of the ongoing government shutdown on local families and workers.
On October 6, 2025, Davids wrote: “I’ve already heard from families from across #KS03 on how the government shutdown affects them, and my team and I are here to help. Visit https://t.co/EnP9ZApFyh for resources that may help during this time.”
Later that day, she highlighted concerns about federal employees affected by the shutdown, stating: “Air traffic controllers like Stephanie’s husband are already stretched thin. A government shutdown only adds stress — and uncertainty about their next paycheck. I’m working across the aisle to reopen the government and protect #KS03 families. https://t.co/nMQkBZih6m” This message underscores the challenges faced by essential workers during periods when federal operations are disrupted.
The following day, Davids posted a link for further reading: “Read more here: https://t.co/vdZ71rYh93”.
