U.S. Representative Sharice Davids, who has served Kansas’s 3rd district since 2019, recently highlighted her work and engagements in a series of social media posts. Davids used her platform to address issues ranging from the importance of public libraries to ongoing efforts to combat overdose deaths and regional development.

On August 2, 2025, Davids expressed appreciation for a local institution, stating, “Thanks to De Soto Library for hosting me! Public libraries are a vital resource, and I am committed to protecting them from threatened cuts.” She reaffirmed her commitment to safeguarding public libraries against potential funding reductions.

Later that day, she addressed public health progress in Kansas: “U.S. overdose deaths decreased almost 27% in 2024, but there’s more work to do. Here’s what I’m doing to help protect Kansans:” Her message pointed to ongoing legislative or community initiatives aimed at further reducing overdose fatalities.

The following day, on August 3, Davids turned her attention to regional leadership and development: “The KC region’s future is bright with leadership like @KCCivicCouncil. Always grateful for a chance to talk about some of the exciting things coming our way!”

Sharice Davids was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. She holds a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (2007) and a JD from Cornell University (2010). Since replacing Kevin Yoder in Congress in 2019, Davids has focused on issues relevant to her district and constituents.
