Rep. Sharice Davids, who has represented Kansas’ 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, addressed several key issues in a series of tweets posted on April 30, 2026.
In one post at 14:12 UTC, Davids drew attention to challenges within the Social Security system, writing, “There’s a serious problem in our Social Security system: seniors and people with disabilities can actually lose SSI benefits just for getting basic help from family, like housing or food. That means people who are already struggling can see their benefits reduced or cut off, not”.
Later that day at 15:39 UTC, Davids commented on agricultural policy following her vote on the Farm Bill. She stated, “My statement after voting to pass today’s Farm Bill: Kansas farmers and families have been hit over and over again this past year — from unstable markets to rising input costs and the ripple effects of reckless tariffs. What they need most right now is stability, not”.
At 16:36 UTC on the same day, she acknowledged Sexual Assault Awareness Month and expressed gratitude toward those supporting survivors. Her message read: “April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. These stories too often stay hidden, carried quietly by survivors who shouldn’t have to go through it alone. To everyone working to support survivors and break that silence: thank you. If you or a loved one needs help, call the National”.
Sharice Davids has served as a member of Congress for Kansas’s 3rd District since replacing Kevin Yoder in 2019 (https://ballotpedia.org/Sharice_Davids). Born in Frankfurt in 1980 and currently residing in Roeland Park, she holds degrees from both the University of Missouri-Kansas City (BA) and Cornell University (JD).
