Rep. Sharice Davids, who has represented Kansas’ 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, posted a series of updates on social media addressing local concerns ranging from rising gas prices to tornado relief efforts.
On April 13, Davids wrote about economic pressures faced by her constituents: “Rising gas prices are hurting Kansas families. I’m working with colleagues on both sides to bring costs down.”
The following day, she provided information regarding severe weather events affecting her district. On April 14, she posted: “Tornadoes hit parts of #KS03 hard last night.
If you need a safe place to stay, a shelter is open at Hillsdale Learning Center (22795 W. 255th St., Paola).
The American Red Cross is also on the ground. Call 1-800-RED-CROSS or use their app for updates and support.”
Later that same day, Davids shared an example of constituent outreach: “When Atlas’ parents reached out to my office, I knew I had to help. I’m always here for you, #KS03.”
Sharice Davids succeeded Kevin Yoder as representative of Kansas’s 3rd district in 2019 and continues to serve in this role. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Davids earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2007 and received a JD from Cornell University in 2010.
