Rep. Sharice Davids, who represents Kansas’ 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on April 29, 2026, addressing public safety concerns and ongoing community issues.
In her first post of the day, Davids questioned the timeliness of tornado sirens in Kansas, stating on April 29: “Kansans heard tornado sirens — but were they delayed? And why? I’m demanding answers because minutes can save lives.”
Later that afternoon, she highlighted housing challenges faced by families in her district and recognized a local partnership. On April 29 she wrote: “Too many families are struggling to find stable, affordable housing. Appreciate @UnitedWayGKC’s partnership as we work on real solutions.”
That evening, Davids reflected on her meeting with congressional interns. In her tweet from April 29 she said: “Today, I got to spend some time with my spring interns talking about the issues that matter most to them and what drew them to public service. I always enjoy these conversations — not just because of the ideas they bring, but because I see a lot of my own path in them.”
Sharice Davids has represented Kansas’s 3rd District since 2019 after replacing Kevin Yoder as its U.S. Congress member. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park at age 42. Her educational background includes a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (2007) and a JD from Cornell University (2010).
