Rep. Sharice Davids, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Kansas’ 3rd district since 2019, recently shared updates on her activities and engagements through a series of tweets. Born in Frankfurt, West Germany, Davids has been an active member of Congress and resides in Roeland Park.
On May 11, 2025, Rep. Davids congratulated Olivia Wang from Blue Valley High School for winning this year’s #KS03 Art Competition with her piece titled “Uncover.” She expressed pride in celebrating Wang and other talented student artists. “Congrats to Olivia Wang from Blue Valley High School — her piece “Uncover” won this year’s #KS03 Art Competition! So proud to celebrate her and all our talented student artists!”
The following day, May 12, 2025, Rep. Davids highlighted her meeting with the Taxpayer Advocate Service in Wichita. She described them as an essential partner for Kansans dealing with IRS issues and recovering refunds. “In Wichita, I met with the Taxpayer Advocate Service — an essential partner in helping Kansans recover refunds and resolve IRS issues. They’re cutting red tape so you don’t have to.”
Later that day, she also mentioned meeting families affected by the ICT-DCA plane collision tragedy. She listened to their stories and discussed her efforts on the House Aviation Subcommittee to enhance air travel safety and prevent future incidents. “Today, I met with families who lost loved ones in the heartbreaking ICT-DCA plane collision.“
Sharice Davids graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a BA in 2007 and earned a JD from Cornell University in 2010.
