Sharice Davids, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Kansas’ 3rd district since 2019, has shared several updates on her official social media account. These posts highlight her involvement in political and social issues as well as her commitment to public service.

On June 8, 2025, Davids expressed pride in celebrating the inaugural class of ReNew Democracy Fellows under the New Democrat Coalition. She mentioned her role as honorary co-chair and emphasized the significance of these future leaders from diverse backgrounds bringing new perspectives to public service. “Proud to celebrate the first class of @NewDemCoalition ReNew Democracy Fellows! As honorary co-chair, I’m excited to see these future leaders — many from underrepresented communities — bring fresh perspectives to public service.”

Later that day, she criticized former President Trump’s decision to dismiss federal workers, suggesting that it undermines essential services and negatively impacts Kansans. She described this move as reckless rather than a smart policy choice. “I’m all for efficient government, but Trump’s firing of federal workers guts services and hurts hardworking Kansans. It’s reckless, not smart policy.”

On June 9, 2025, Davids addressed the ongoing issue of fentanyl-related deaths. She reiterated her support for families affected by fentanyl and committed to working with educators and law enforcement to eradicate its presence in communities. Her collaboration with Victoria’s Voice aims to draw attention to this critical matter. “One fentanyl-related death is too many — and I’ll continue supporting impacted families, educators, and law enforcement in getting fentanyl out of our communities for good. Proud to join @VictoriasVoice_ to bring attention to this important issue.”

Sharice Davids was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and resides in Roeland Park. She holds a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (2007) and a JD from Cornell University (2010).
