Cost of college went up for all students at the Mitsu Sato Hair Academy

Tuition and fees rose 6.5 percent for 2018-19 at the Mitsu Sato Hair Academy, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Kansas students paid $16,500 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $1,000 more than the $15,500 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 50 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 17 students received grants or scholarships totaling $66,768 and 15 students took out student loans totaling more than $93,279.

Including all undergraduates (32), 20 students used grants or scholarships totaling $77,053, and 19 students took out $116,600 in federal student loans.
