The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending June 27 belonged to Timothy Vette who filed in September 19, 2011.
The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.
Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
