The Olathe Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. Students from Canyon Creek Elementary School’s Boy Scouts program will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by approval of this month’s meeting agenda.
Board members will recognize Volunteers Serving Schools members receiving 2021-22 Presidential Service Awards, two students who earned a perfect score on the ACT, and an outstanding debate student.
Two informational presentations are planned. Canyon Creek Principal Christy James will highlight some of the great things happening at her school. Dr. Julie Veatch, director of school improvement, assessment and curriculum, will share brief data from the 2021-22 school year.
The board will vote on a consent agenda of routine items as well as bids, contracts and agreements. Board members will act on two easements, resolution to exceed the revenue neutral rate for the 2022-23 annual budget, the 2022-23 budget, and Board of Education committee and school Site Council assignments. They will receive information on future action items and three written reports.
An executive session is planned for the board to consult with its attorney.
