Falcons Battle, Fall Short In Exhibition at Baker

Men's basketball traveled to Baldwin City, Kan. on Monday night for an exhibition game at Baker University. The Falcons fell 74-71 to Baker who plays in the NAIA and is a member of the Heart of America Conference. 

The first half stayed tight throughout with Baker leading 31-30 at halftime. The Falcons kept the game close playing from behind for most of the second half. After trailing by as much as nine points with four minutes remaining the Falcons tied the game at 71 each with just under a minute remaining. Baker then closed the game with three unanswered points to win the game 74-71. 

Jamal Clark led the offense with 14 points. Great Nwachukwu added 12 points while Boog Lewis and Elazar Conley each finished with 10 points. Clark had five assists and five steals to lead the team in both categories. Conley led the team in rebounds with seven. 

The Falcons compete next in their first home game on Thursday, November 3 at 8pm against Faith Lutheran Bible College. It will be OCS Reading Buddy Night with Overland Christian School students attending that Kansas Christian College student-athletes have been connecting with over the first semester.
