Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. recently appeared on Washington Watch with host Tony Perkins to discuss border security negotiations and his call for a vote of No Confidence in Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Senator Marshall emphasized the urgency of securing the southern border, stating, "When Republicans talk about this, we talk about this as the national security issue. When my friends across the aisle talk about this, they talk about it as an immigration issue, but I can assure you 10,000 people crossing our border every day is the number one most immediate threat to our national security."

Senator Marshall expressed concern over the issue of parole, highlighting that the Biden administration has paroled over one and a half million illegal migrants who have crossed the border. He criticized President Biden's approach, saying, "Joe Biden is saying don't worry about it… don't worry about it. Here’s a work visa, here’s a phone. You don’t have to even show up for a court date, or do anything at all. You are paroled indefinitely for all practical purposes."

Calling for accountability, Senator Marshall argued that Secretary Mayorkas should be impeached for his handling of the parole situation. He stated, "What the law clearly states is he’s supposed to do that on a case by case basis. And he’s doing that to thousands of people at a time. And that’s why we should impeach Secretary Mayorkas now, and in 300 days, we should fire Joe Biden."

Senator Marshall further explained his resolution for a vote of No Confidence against Secretary Mayorkas, accusing him of being derelict in his job and breaking his oath. He pointed out that Secretary Mayorkas has failed to maintain operational control of the border, as required by the Secure Fence Act of 2006.

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Senator Marshall urged his colleagues in the Senate to support the No Confidence resolution, stating, "There’s no one in this country that thinks he has operational control of the border. I think because of all those reasons, there should be a vote of No Confidence from the Senate."

The issue of border security has become a pressing concern for the United States, with the influx of migrants posing a significant threat to national security. As Senator Marshall emphasizes, it is crucial for the government to address this issue promptly and take the necessary measures to secure the southern border.
