Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. took to the Senate Floor to demand the immediate passage of his resolution declaring an invasion at the southern border. Senator Marshall, who has been leading this resolution for years, called for its immediate passage through unanimous consent. However, Democrats blocked the measure, arguing that it would lead to "cruelty and lawlessness."

In his remarks, Senator Marshall criticized President Joe Biden for failing to secure the borders, resulting in what he described as the "worst border crisis in American history." He highlighted the devastating impact of the crisis, stating, "300 young Americans will die today from fentanyl poisoning- 300 yesterday, 300 tomorrow, 300,000 people have died from fentanyl poisoning since he took office." Senator Marshall also expressed concern about the presence of terrorists, Chinese Communist nationals, and cartels within the interior of the country.

To address this crisis, Senator Marshall proposed an invasion declaration, as defined by the United States Constitution, which would allow Congress to recognize each state's right to secure their own borders. He emphasized that this resolution does not absolve the federal government of its responsibility but empowers states to take action when the federal government fails to do so.

Referring to Article four, Section four of the Constitution, Senator Marshall reminded his colleagues that it promises that the federal government "shall protect each state against invasion." He argued that by supporting his resolution, they would be upholding their oath to defend the Constitution.

Senator Marshall commended Operation Lone Star, a Texas initiative that has made significant progress in combating illegal activities at the border. He praised their efforts, stating, "They've come up with more than 35,000 felony charges. They've seized over 450 million lethal doses of fentanyl." Senator Marshall expressed his support for the governor of Texas and the people of Texas, calling for the unanimous consent and support of the Senate.

While the resolution did not pass due to opposition from Democrats, Senator Marshall's efforts to address the border crisis and protect American citizens from the dangers posed by illegal activities at the southern border remain steadfast.
