Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. appeared on National Report on Newsmax to discuss his opposition to Joe Biden’s border bill, which he claims provides more funding to Ukraine than it does to secure the United States' own borders.

In the interview, Senator Marshall criticized President Biden for blaming Republicans for the current border crisis, stating, "Joe Biden is what caused this open border. Your listeners understand that under Donald Trump, less than 1,000 people are crossing the border every day. Under Joe Biden, 10,000 is a normal day."

Regarding the border bill itself, Senator Marshall expressed doubt that it would progress further, stating, "Look, this legislation doesn't have the votes to get to the next step. So I think it's done today." He then highlighted his support for H.R. 2, a different bill addressing asylum and parole issues.

Senator Marshall made it clear that he intends to vote against the bill, referring to it as a "Ukraine funding bill." He specifically raised concerns about the parole portion of the bill, comparing the number of people being paroled under the Obama administration to the current Biden administration, saying, "Under Barack Obama, he was paroling 5,000 people per year, 5,000. Joe Biden is paroling 700,000 people per year."

Senator Marshall also criticized President Biden's approach to immigration, accusing him of being a "lawless president" who disregards the law. He claimed that Biden has broken the law multiple times by pulling tens of thousands of people into the country at a time.

Reflecting on the current political landscape, Senator Marshall pointed to the Democrats' control of the White House, Senate, and a slim majority in the House as the reason for the current situation. He stated, "This is what happens when the American public gives the Democrats the White House to control the Senate, and then a thin majority in the House. There's only so much you can do."

In summary, Senator Roger Marshall expressed his opposition to Joe Biden's border bill, referring to it as a "Ukraine funding bill." He cited concerns about the parole portion of the bill and criticized President Biden for his handling of immigration and the border crisis. Senator Marshall attributed the current situation to the Democrats' control of the government.
