U.S. Senators Roger Marshall and Steve Daines have taken a stand against the Biden Administration's proposed rule to impose additional regulations on oil production in Kansas. Senator Marshall, expressing concern over the impact on consumers, stated, “Energy costs have significantly risen nationwide and Americans are feeling it...The Biden Administration has taken their war on American energy and oil producers too far. I will not bow down in this fight against strangling our producers with Washington D.C.’s red tape.”
Senator Daines echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the detrimental effects on small energy producers in Montana, saying, “We must put a stop to Biden’s heavy-handed regulations that are bad for our pocketbooks, America’s energy security and our national security.”
Senator Hoeven highlighted the adverse consequences of the proposed regulation on energy producers, particularly smaller companies, stating, “This one-size-fits-all regulation would impose unworkable costs on energy producers... harming America’s energy security.”
Senator Tim Scott emphasized the importance of energy security as national security, noting, “Increasing energy production here at home creates jobs and makes us and our allies safer... I’m proud to join this effort to beat back the Biden administration’s overreach, strengthen our national security, and restore American energy dominance.”
Other senators, including Senator Lankford, Senator Blackburn, Senator Cruz, and Senator Lee, also voiced their opposition to the proposed rule, citing concerns about its impact on energy prices, job creation, and national security.
The Independent Petroleum Association of America expressed support for the Congressional Review Act led by Senator Marshall, stating, “IPAA recognizes that EPA will be regulating methane emissions and producers’ responsibility to control them... There are few options left to try to bring some reality into this process.”
In response to the proposed rule, Senator Marshall has called for action, urging Congress to use the CRA to overturn the regulation. Interested individuals can access Senator Marshall's full CRA by clicking the provided link.
