Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. grilled Boeing whistleblower, Sam Salehpour, a current Quality Engineer at Boeing, on the aviation giant's manufacturing issues and oversight that have compromised American safety.

During the questioning, Salehpour expressed his commitment to exposing the truth, stating, "You know, if something happens to me, I am at peace, because I feel like by coming forward, I will be saving a lot of lives. And I’m at peace, whatever happens, it happens."

Salehpour highlighted the challenges he faced within Boeing, explaining, "There is a culture of when you address the quality issues, and that’s all I have done, I haven’t made it personal. All I’ve done is said, hey, you know, we are not measuring the gaps properly, we are not shaming the gaps properly, then, you know, you get threatened and this and that. All I’m trying to say is that system needs to be changed."

Furthermore, Salehpour recounted a specific incident at a meeting concerning the Boeing 777, revealing, "I went to a meeting on the 777, and I brought up my concern in that meeting to say that the way we’re building that airplane does not correlate to what the design of the airplane is, because of that we are resulting in a lot of misfires and a lot of problems."

Senator Marshall also engaged Mr. Pierson, the Executive Director of The Foundation for Aviation Safety, who criticized the inaction of the Department of Transportation in addressing aviation safety concerns. Pierson emphasized, "We met with the head of the FAA and the Deputy Secretary of Transportation on March 8, our Foundation did, and we went through 35 problems and we made recommendations to each one and we offered to assist whatever we could because we want them to be successful. But they need to get in the game is all I can tell you."

The exchange between Senator Marshall, Salehpour, and Pierson sheds light on the pressing need to address safety and quality issues within the aviation industry, urging for decisive actions to safeguard the lives of passengers and uphold industry standards.
