Johnson County’s 49 coaches earned an average salary of $45,682 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 16th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Kansas post-secondary schools during 2022.

Johnson County is home to three post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Johnson County Community College stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $75,585.

Male coaches of men's teams received $40,283 on average in Johnson County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $43,145.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
