U.S. Senator Roger Marshall released a statement regarding the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) new livestock marketing rule under the Packers and Stockyards Act, expressing concern that it will negatively impact livestock producers by adding more regulations to their operations.

“This is just another example of the Biden Administration's USDA running roughshod over livestock producers, the constitution, and the rule of law,” said Senator Marshall. “No amount of spin will hide the fact that this rule violates at least eight separate decisions from Federal Courts of Appeals – it also goes far beyond authority provided in the Packers and Stockyards Act, making it blatantly unconstitutional. This rule will allow the Biden Administration to micromanage ranchers and feeders in a way this country has never seen before, threatening Kansas family farms’ ability to survive.”
