U.S. Senator Roger Marshall appeared on Newsmax to address the Secret Service's systemic failures that led to an assassination attempt on President Trump and called for urgent reforms within the agency. Additionally, Senator Marshall commented on a violent anti-Israel demonstration in Washington, D.C., which occurred in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress.
Regarding the Secret Service's issues, Senator Marshall stated, "This was a systemic failure on the part of the Secret Service. There were individual failures, but more importantly, systemic failures. There’s a huge cultural issue within the Secret Service right now – almost half of their employees have quit in the past year." He emphasized that "they’re focused on DEI hires," and criticized their supervision by an impeached DHS Secretary.
Senator Marshall urged immediate action: "We don’t need to be waiting weeks, or months, or years for Congress to investigate this. They have everything they need right there to fix the problem." He also questioned why the full motive behind the incident had not been released and called for a crisis intervention team: "That should have already happened if we had a real commander in chief that had half of a common sense."
On the topic of recent violent demonstrations in Washington following Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech, Senator Marshall remarked, "Well, this is what happens when you have a weak commander in chief." He suggested that such events would not occur under former President Trump and criticized Vice President Harris' absence during these events as indicative of her stance towards Israel.
Praising Prime Minister Netanyahu's address, he said: "I want to just take my hat off to Prime Minister Netanyahu and the great job that he did explaining why there is this special relationship between Israel and America." He highlighted Israel's role in preventing terrorist attacks and sharing military technology with the U.S.
Marshall condemned those participating in violent protests: "Most of them are paid; they’re organized. It’s a disgrace...and that’s who Kamala Harris supports."
