On the anniversary of the October 7th terrorist attack on Israel, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall joined a resolution sponsored by Senator Joni Ernst, condemning the Iran-backed Hamas regime. The resolution supports Israel's survival and calls for the release of American hostages. All Republican senators have cosponsored this resolution.
Senate Republicans are united in opposing antisemitic protests and condemning Hamas' use of rape as a weapon of war. They emphasize Israel's right to self-defense and stress preventing Hamas from reconstituting in the region to avoid a repeat of past events.
"One year ago, Hamas terrorists launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, killing innocent Israelis and American citizens and taking hostages in acts of horrific violence. We will never forget those lost in the evil attacks and continue to pray for the safe return of those still held captive by Hamas. We must stand united against the forces of terror that seek to undermine democracy and spread chaos in the region and beyond," Senator Marshall stated.
"This time last year, I woke up in the Middle East to the unbearable news that Israel was under attack by Iran-backed terrorists and Americans were being killed and taken hostage," said Senator Ernst, a combat veteran. "I immediately traveled into Israel to show that our nation’s friendship is unwavering, in good times and bad. Regardless of whether I have been in Jerusalem, Washington, or Iowa, I have worked around the clock to hold the White House accountable to its ‘ironclad’ commitment, bring our hostages home, and cut off the source of terrorism in Tehran. One year since that day, as Israel remains under attack on all fronts, Senate Republicans stand united with our greatest ally in the Middle East."
