U.S. Senator Roger Marshall recently appeared on Newsmax's "Wake Up America" to discuss various issues impacting farmers and ranchers in rural America. He expressed support for former President Donald Trump's policies, criticizing the current administration under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Marshall emphasized the importance of agriculture in rural communities, stating, "As agriculture goes, so goes Rural America." He argued that the Biden-Harris administration has negatively impacted American agriculture with increased regulations and higher energy costs, leading to a decline in net farm income. In contrast, he praised Trump for providing market access and rolling back regulations, resulting in "record income increases."

The senator also highlighted Trump's success with trade agreements such as the USMCA and deals with South Korea and Japan. He claimed these agreements have significantly boosted dairy exports from $6 billion to $9 billion. According to Marshall, the Biden-Harris administration has not prioritized trade agreements.

Discussing foreign agriculture policies, Marshall stated that "food security is national security," criticizing high tariffs imposed by Europe and China on American agricultural products. He argued that tariffs could be used strategically for fair trade and suggested Trump would continue using them effectively.

On the topic of Kamala Harris's proposed ban on price gouging, Marshall warned of potential shortages in products like beef, poultry, eggs, and milk. He attributed rising prices to policies affecting American energy and increasing interest rates.

Lastly, Marshall addressed comments made by President Biden referring to Trump supporters as "garbage." He likened this remark to Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" comment and defended Trump's connection with working Americans.

"When I think of rural America," Marshall said, "I think of the values we are raised on—faith and family and country—and how coastal elites are dictating to us what our values should be."
