U.S. Senator Roger Marshall recently appeared on the Joe Pags Show to discuss various issues, including Medicaid, rural hospitals, and a report by DNI Tulsi Gabbard concerning Russian misinformation. During the interview, Senator Marshall expressed concerns about the challenges facing rural hospitals, noting that "60% of rural hospitals are really struggling" due to economic difficulties in rural areas.
Addressing misinformation regarding Medicaid and rural healthcare, Marshall stated: "The left controls 90% of the message. They control the national media; it is that simple." He emphasized efforts to save Medicaid for those who need it most while pointing out that there are "2 million people on it illegally right now."
Senator Marshall also discussed improving VA care and highlighted past successes under President Trump: "When President Trump 45 was in office, the wait times went down for our veterans." He criticized current administrative approaches under President Biden's administration.
Regarding healthcare reform, Marshall advocated for transparency and competition: "My big three themes for fixing health care when I came here was anything that makes health care more transparent."
In response to Gabbard's Russia misinformation report, he described it as a significant betrayal: "This is the greatest betrayal of American trust in my lifetime." He called for action from both Congress and the Justice Department to address this issue.
Marshall further shared his views on nutrition's role in preventing chronic diseases and working with Secretary Kennedy on agricultural practices: "What can we do nutritionally to prevent those as well as treat them?"
The interview covered a wide range of topics related to healthcare policies and political accountability.
