Rep. Sharice Davids, who represents Kansas’ 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on recent bipartisan activities and local projects through her official Twitter account this week.
On September 18, Davids highlighted a rare moment of unity between political parties by attending a congressional sporting event: "Headed to the Congressional Pickleball Game tonight! Always great when Democrats and Republicans rally together — literally."
The following day, she announced improvements coming to a local park due to federal funding: "Nall Park is getting a major upgrade thanks to a federal grant I voted for! From new trails to playgrounds and more, these improvements mean families across JoCo will have a safer, more accessible space to enjoy for years to come." The mention of "JoCo" refers to Johnson County, which is part of her congressional district.
Later on September 19, Davids reported legislative progress achieved in cooperation with members from both parties: "I’ve passed three bipartisan bills in a Republican-led Washington this year:
Supporting veteran entrepreneurs
Cutting red tape for small biz owners
Helping folks recovering from substance abuse reenter the workforce
Getting things done for Kansans! "
Sharice Davids has represented Kansas’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Kevin Yoder. She was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and currently resides in Roeland Park. Her educational background includes a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a JD from Cornell University.
