Wichita, KS – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D., appeared on Newsmax's Wake Up America to compare President Donald Trump’s policy record with that of the Biden-Harris administration. Senator Marshall also provided updates on his investigation into Google after the company admitted it suppressed news of an assassination attempt against President Trump, which it described as a “hypothetical act of political violence.” Additionally, he discussed Senator J.D. Vance’s upcoming visit to the Kansas City metro area.
In his interview, Senator Marshall contrasted President Trump's tenure with the current administration: “Let’s talk about our record. Remember, under Donald Trump, when the economy was strong, unemployment was low, there wasn’t inflation, the border was secure, we were safe and sound. I’ve done about a dozen town halls here over the past three or four days, and still, the number one and two concerns are the open southern border and the cost of gas and groceries."
Marshall highlighted economic issues under the Biden-Harris administration: "African American unemployment is up to 6.4% now. We’ve lost 1.6 million full-time jobs in the past year. Look, this economy is getting soft. Meanwhile, inflation is not coming down for rent, for insurance, or for child care."
Regarding Google's response to suppressing information about an assassination attempt on President Trump, Marshall stated: “So this [response] is two weeks after the assassination attempt that left one brave man dead and two others severely critically injured as well…Google purposely did not want Donald Trump portrayed as a hero…We are asking the Homeland Security Committee that I’m on to investigate this…Google is an instrument of the Left.”
Senator Marshall also spoke about Senator J.D. Vance’s forthcoming visit to Kansas City: "Kansas City is actually a very large union town...the Republican Party is now…the party of hardworking men and women…we are going to bring prices back down...we’re going to stop printing money in Washington…we are going to set American energy free."
He further emphasized security concerns: "Kansans don’t feel safe anymore...Donald Trump has secured the border before…I guarantee that Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are going to secure the border on day one." He added criticisms of Vice President Kamala Harris's policies: “Kamala Harris introduced these terms…defund the police…she’s been against law and order for decades...We lose a Kansan every day to fentanyl poisoning.”
Senator Marshall concluded by noting crime issues linked with drug trafficking: “We are at the crossroads of America where all this human trafficking and drug trafficking occurs…wherever there’s drug trafficking, you’ll find crime as well.”
