U.S. Senator Roger Marshall expressed his disappointment following Tyson Foods' decision to close its facility in Emporia, Kansas. The closure is expected to leave hundreds of workers unemployed, impacting one of the largest employers in the region.

"The news of Tyson’s closing its plant in Emporia breaks my heart," stated Senator Marshall. "This facility is one of the largest employers in the region, and its closure will leave hundreds unemployed. This is devastating news for these families and the community, especially at Christmas time."

Senator Marshall's office has been actively communicating with leaders from the City of Emporia to explore ways to assist those affected by this development. "My office has been in contact with leaders from the City of Emporia and we are committed to doing everything possible to help these individuals find good jobs," he added.

For families seeking assistance or information regarding the shutdown, they can reach out to Senator Marshall’s Topeka office at 785-414-7501. Additionally, resources are available through the Emporia Workforce Center located at 215 W. 6th Ave., Suite 107 Emporia, KS 66801 or by calling 620-342-3355.
