U.S. Senator Roger Marshall recently appeared on Fox Business to discuss two significant topics: President Biden's pardon of his son, Hunter Biden, and the nomination of Kash Patel for FBI Director.
President Biden issued a sweeping pardon for Hunter Biden, covering activities from 2014 to 2024. This decision contradicts previous statements by the President that he would not pardon his son. Senator Marshall raised concerns about this action, questioning the Biden family's connections with Burisma and other matters. He stated, "The first thing I did, I went back to 2014, what did we see? The [Biden Crime Family], involvement with Burisma. Burisma is the key to this and tracing that money to ‘the Big Guy,’ right?”
Senator Marshall also emphasized the potential impact of the pardon on future investigations. He remarked, “More than just pardoning Hunter Biden, he’s trying to prevent any type of further investigation that’s going to lead back to him. But that’s why our job in the House and the Senate – now we can subpoena Hunter Biden, and he can’t take the Fifth [Amendment] anymore, so we’ve got work to do.”
In addition to discussing the pardon, Senator Marshall addressed President Trump's nomination of Kash Patel as FBI Director. This nomination comes amid concerns about trust in the FBI under acting Director Christopher Wray. According to Senator Marshall, “On November 5, the American people said we do not trust the FBI, that it’s been weaponized. We need a change. We need to clean the house."
He expressed strong support for Patel's nomination, citing his integrity and commitment to truth and justice: “It’s time for a big change – Kash Patel is the person to do it. He’s a man of integrity; he’s a person that believes in truth and justice." Senator Marshall also mentioned his belief in Patel's backing by the Senate: "He has an incredible resume, and he’ll have the backing, I believe, of the full Senate when he comes through this process."
