U.S. Senator Roger Marshall recently appeared on Fox Business' "Mornings with Maria" to discuss his support for President Donald Trump's agenda and the reconciliation process. Senator Marshall emphasized the importance of cooperation between both chambers of Congress, highlighting key issues such as border security, energy policy, and making Trump tax cuts permanent.
Marshall expressed strong backing for Speaker of the House Mike Johnson's approach, stating, "This is going to be President Trump’s call. But listen, there’s two paths – often you can take two different routes to get to the same goal." He stressed the need for empathy and understanding from senators towards the House's perspective.
He also mentioned a near-complete tax package bill under Speaker Johnson's leadership, advocating for its review. Marshall stated, "We can go down two roads at the same time," suggesting a budget reconciliation bill could accommodate multiple legislative priorities simultaneously.
Regarding recent actions by President Biden that may complicate transitions for the incoming administration, Marshall remarked, "This is a slap in the face of the 77 million Americans who voted for President Trump." He criticized decisions like pardoning individuals not yet charged with crimes and financial policies impacting national debt.
In addition to political discussions, Senator Marshall introduced his Make America Healthy Again Caucus initiative. He plans to collaborate with figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Oz to improve health outcomes in America. The initiative focuses on addressing chronic diseases through better nutrition and revised dietary guidelines.
Marshall explained his enthusiasm: “I’m just so, so excited about this... Making America Healthy Again starts with nutrition – with healthy, quality nutrition.” The senator believes that improved dietary habits could lead to reduced healthcare costs over time.
