U.S. Senator Roger Marshall appeared on Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the upcoming Senate confirmation hearings for President Trump's cabinet nominees. Marshall emphasized the urgency of confirming these nominees to implement the President's agenda effectively.
Marshall stated, "President Trump’s going to go in on day number one and sign 100 executive orders, but those orders go nowhere unless we get these nominees across the finish line." He highlighted the importance of having nominations ready for swift action by the President.
The Senator acknowledged that the hearing process might be challenging due to scrutiny from media and political opponents but expressed confidence in the nominees. "As I’ve interviewed these people, one on one, they’ve been great communicators, they’re great leaders," he said.
Marshall also discussed health initiatives with HHS Secretary RFK Jr. and CMS Nominee Dr. Oz under his Make America Healthy Again Caucus. He stressed focusing on nutrition and addressing chronic diseases as part of their strategy. "I’m excited to help Dr. Oz and Bobby Jr. make America Healthy Again," he noted.
On military spending and fiscal issues, Marshall commented on potential legislative strategies: "You can’t look at just each issue in a silo... If we could somehow address the debt ceiling as well before then that would be great."
