U.S. Senator Roger Marshall recently appeared on Fox Business's "The Evening Edit" to discuss the Senate's committee hearings on President Trump's cabinet nominees. During the interview, Senator Marshall conveyed his enthusiasm for the nominees and expressed his commitment to supporting President Trump's agenda.
Regarding Pete Hegseth's confirmation hearing, Senator Marshall criticized Democrats for focusing on character rather than policy. He stated, “I thought it fell flat that [Democrats] couldn’t get to anywhere on process on the substance of Pete Hegseth and his policies so instead, they went after character assassination." He praised Hegseth as a "modern day patriot" and emphasized the support from Trump voters: “I think those 77 million people that voted for Donald Trump are going to like the people that President Trump has set forth that these people are the Calvary."
Senator Marshall also commented on what he perceives as a growing momentum across America under President Trump's leadership. He remarked, “Across America, we’re seeing this momentum, this excitement that something bigger is happening right now," adding that it's "a new day in America" with renewed hope.
