U.S. Senators Roger Marshall and Marsha Blackburn, along with their Republican colleagues, have introduced two resolutions aimed at safeguarding the interests of women and girls in sports. The "Resolution Calling on the NCAA to Protect Women in Sports" demands that the NCAA retract its policy on transgender student-athlete eligibility. It also urges member conferences to align with a biological sex-based policy across all sports and divisions. Furthermore, it calls upon sports-governing bodies in the U.S. to preserve women's sports for biological females.

In addition, they have proposed recognizing October 10 as 'American Girls in Sports Day' through a resolution intended to honor female athletes' achievements.

Senator Marshall has been vocal about defending Title IX and ensuring the future of women's sports aligns with these principles. In August 2024, he encouraged the NCAA President to revise policies so that only biologically female students can compete in women's sports. He further joined Senator Blackburn in urging an update to enforce sex-based eligibility standards.

Marshall has also put forward legislation such as the Defining Male and Female Act, which seeks to establish legal definitions based on biology for terms like male, female, and sex. This bill aims to protect rights related to sex-segregated sports and scholarships for girls and women. Recently, Marshall collaborated with Senator Tuberville on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which reinforces Title IX protections for female athletes.
