U.S. Senator Roger Marshall expressed his support for President Trump's Cabinet nominees during an appearance on Newsmax's "Wake Up America." As a member of the Senate Budget Committee, Senator Marshall endorsed Russell Vought, nominated for Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), following Vought's recent hearing.
Senator Marshall highlighted Vought's previous experience as OMB director during Trump's first administration, noting his ability to reduce federal spending and enhance government efficiency. He stated, "Russ is a man of his word. He’s going to do what he said he was going to do, that he’s going to fulfill President Trump’s missions."
Marshall also addressed concerns about Pete Hegseth, nominee for Secretary of Defense, describing criticisms against him as "character assassination." He assured listeners that Hegseth would focus on recruitment and morale issues within the military.
Additionally, Senator Marshall commented on President Trump's executive order recognizing only two genders federally. He shared his perspective as a physician and obstetrician: "Over 5,000 times I held up a baby and said, this is a boy, this is a girl."
