Rollins, who grew up on a farm and participated in agricultural organizations such as Future Farmers of America and 4H, emphasized her commitment to supporting American farmers and ranchers. She shared her vision of reducing regulations and addressing key issues like biofuels and the 45Z tax credit.
Reflecting on her upbringing, Rollins stated: "The fact that I’m sitting here today... but yet, I grew up in a town of 1200 with a single mom with two little sisters... Future Farmers of America is the organization that set my path so many years ago."
She also highlighted President Trump's focus on agriculture during his administration: "Any time in any senior staff meetings... he would always point to me and say, where are we on that? And it was so clear to me that that is where his heart is."
Rollins addressed the importance of biofuels and assured farmers of continued support from the current administration: "I believe... you should feel very confident that you have a friend and a defender in this current administration."
Discussing regulatory changes from the previous administration, she noted: "I do have extensive experience in many of these regulatory programs... My policy heart is very happy at the opportunity to make those better."
The hearing provided insights into Rollins' plans if confirmed as Secretary of Agriculture, emphasizing her focus on defending American agriculture.
