U.S. Senators Roger Marshall and Ron Johnson, along with 14 other Senate colleagues, have introduced the Guidance Out Of Darkness (GOOD) Act. This legislation mandates federal agencies to make their regulatory guidance available online in an easily accessible format. The aim is to ensure that affected parties, such as small businesses, workers, and households, are fully informed of regulatory requirements for compliance.
"There must be full transparency between government bureaucrats and the American taxpayers who pay their salaries," stated Senator Marshall. "Requiring federal agencies to publish their regulatory guidance on the internet in an easily accessible location should be a no brainer." He expressed surprise that this step had not been taken earlier and emphasized his support for the GOOD Act alongside Senator Johnson, noting its potential to bring common-sense reforms to improve transparency and efficiency in governance.
The senators supporting this bill include Kevin Cramer, Joni Ernst, James Lankford, Mike Lee, Cynthia Lummis, Rick Scott, Thom Tillis, Marsha Blackburn, John Hoeven, Ted Budd, Eric Schmitt, Tim Sheehy, and James Risch.
