U.S. Senator Roger Marshall has issued a statement regarding President Trump's recent Executive Order aimed at protecting minors from certain medical procedures. The order focuses on preventing what it describes as "chemical and surgical mutilation" of children, emphasizing the importance of biological considerations over ideological ones.
Senator Marshall previously introduced legislation known as the Safeguarding the Overall Protection of Minors Act. This bill sought to shield children in the United States from what he termed irreversible harm resulting from transgender procedures.
In his statement, Senator Marshall praised President Trump for his leadership, stating: “Under President Trump’s leadership, common sense and dignity have returned to the White House. This is another promise made, promise kept by the President and his unwavering commitment to protecting our children from transgender activists in what can only be described as child abuse." He further added that "President Trump’s Executive Order rightfully prohibits the castration, mutilation, and use of dangerous irreversible therapy treatments on children.”
The Executive Order aims to address these concerns through specific measures outlined by the administration.
