U.S. Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas appeared on Newsmax's National Report to discuss recent political developments in his state and federal government initiatives. A significant topic was the Kansas legislature's decision to override Governor Laura Kelly's veto of Senate Bill 63, known as the Help Not Harm Act. This legislation aims to prevent minors from undergoing genital surgeries and irreversible hormone treatments.
Senator Marshall expressed his support for the legislative action, stating, "I’m very proud of my Republican caucus back in Kansas, both on the House and Senate side, they’re standing up to the governor." He emphasized that a majority of Kansans oppose allowing boys to compete in girls' sports or performing transition surgeries on minors. "We have an obligation...to protect these children," he added.
In addition to state matters, Senator Marshall discussed efforts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse within the U.S. government. He noted concerns about federal spending and workforce efficiency: “President Trump was elected to make change. We spend $2 trillion more every year than we take in…We think that there are hundreds of billions of dollars of waste, fraud, and abuse."
Marshall also referenced Elon Musk’s approach with Twitter as a model for governmental reform: “If I was Elon, I’m asking him to double down...Think about what Elon did with Twitter.” He highlighted recent presidential actions towards transparency in hospital procedures as part of ongoing collaborations with DOGE.
The senator concluded with a call for continued progress: "Full speed ahead. Let’s Make America Great Again."
