Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas has issued a statement following the report by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) of six confirmed measles cases in Southwest Kansas.
The senator is monitoring the situation as updates on measles outbreaks across the United States are released. As of March 14, 2025, there have been 301 confirmed cases reported in 15 states, with additional presumed cases under testing.
"Given the increase in cases of measles in Kansas, everyone should talk to their own doctor about their health needs and the need for a booster shot or vaccination," stated Senator Marshall.
His office is in communication with KDHE, which has confirmed that there is an adequate supply of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine available. The senator's office will continue to liaise with KDHE regarding infection tracking and provide federal assistance as necessary.
