Rep. Sharice Davids, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Kansas’ 3rd district, has made recent public statements addressing several pressing issues impacting her constituency. Davids, who has been in her congressional role since 2019 after succeeding Kevin Yoder, has actively voiced her positions on healthcare funding, state health coverage, and a recent aviation tragedy.
On April 4, 2025, Rep. Davids expressed concern over a freeze on Title X funding by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She stated, "I led my colleagues in demanding that @HHSGov reverse its freeze on Title X funding — because millions rely on it for birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing, and other essential care. Stripping these services from Kansans is just plain wrong."
A day later, on April 5, 2025, Davids emphasized her opposition to potential reductions in KanCare, Kansas' Medicaid program. She tweeted, "I'm fighting back against threats to cut KanCare — and instead, pushing for policies that keep our families healthy and our communities strong."
On April 6, 2025, Rep. Davids joined her Kansas delegation colleagues in a moment of silence to honor the victims of Flight 5342 from Wichita. She remarked, "We remember those lost and stand united in our work to help ensure a tragedy like this never happens again."
