U.S. Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas recently addressed the Senate, reflecting on the first 100 days of President Donald Trump's second term. Marshall described these early days as "some of the most consequential we’ve ever seen in American history."

In highlighting various achievements, Marshall noted a significant "11-point surge in optimism" since January. He emphasized a "return to American greatness," characterizing Trump's administration as fulfilling promises.

One point of focus was border security. Marshall stated, "Under President Trump, we’re now averaging less than 300 of those border crossings a day." He reported reductions in violent crimes and fentanyl poisoning, attributing these to Trump's policies. "President Trump also campaigned that he would make your family safer and more secure," he said.

On the economy, Marshall highlighted regulatory rollbacks and lower gas prices. He said, "To that end, of his [over] 135 executive orders, many have done just that, cutting red tape and saving American families some $2,000 each."

Marshall also commented on grocery prices and regulatory changes, stating, "Last month, we saw the smallest increase in the consumer price index since the spring of 2020." He further highlighted Trump's actions to terminate the EV mandate and other policy shifts, asserting that Trump is "an American first president."

Economic growth was a key theme in Marshall's speech. He pointed to a "$7 trillion of investment into America" and an increase in demand for American-made products. "We’re seeing that already across the state of Kansas," he noted.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average's recent performance was another focus. "The Dow today is up 5% compared to a year ago," Marshall remarked.

Finally, Marshall expressed optimism about the future, stating, "Today, families are safer, life is more affordable, and traditional family values are now thriving." He concluded by asserting that the "American dream is alive and well."
