Sharice Davids, currently serving as a U.S. Congresswoman for Kansas' 3rd district, has been active on social media, sharing messages that reflect her commitment to cultural celebration and policy advocacy. Davids, who replaced Kevin Yoder in 2019, uses her platform to highlight significant events and legislative efforts.
On May 5, 2025, Davids commemorated Cinco de Mayo by acknowledging its historical significance and cultural impact. She stated: "¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Today is a day to honor the Battle of Puebla and celebrate the rich culture of our Mexican-American communities."
Later that day, Davids addressed economic concerns by announcing her successful appeal to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding fuel prices. She tweeted: "I called on the EPA to take action to lower gas prices for Kansans — and they listened. Allowing the sale of E15 gas this summer will help save money at the gas pump, support local farmers, and reduce our reliance on oil from overseas."
In another post on May 5th, she expressed her support for voting rights legislation. Davids wrote: "Every Kansan deserves a say in our democracy. I support the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to protect the right to vote, crack down on big money, and raise the bar on ethics in politics."
Sharice Davids was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in 1980 and resides in Roeland Park. She holds a BA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a JD from Cornell University.
