U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, along with Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and 79 other Senate colleagues, announced the unanimous passage of a resolution designating May 12 through 17 as National Police Week. This annual tradition has been observed for over 60 years, highlighting support for law enforcement officers nationwide.

Senator Marshall expressed personal connection to the cause, stating, "My dad was the chief of police in my hometown, and I grew up watching him put his life on the line every day to protect our community." He emphasized the dedication of law enforcement officers in Kansas and across the United States who work diligently to maintain safety and uphold laws. "America’s law enforcement officers deserve the highest level of recognition," he added.

Senator Grassley also acknowledged the efforts of law enforcement personnel: "Law enforcement officers in Iowa and across the nation work tirelessly to protect and serve our communities. This week, and every week, we should give our thanks to the brave men and women in blue."

The resolution's passage reflects continued bipartisan support for recognizing the sacrifices made by police officers.
