U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, representing Kansas, appeared on Newsmax to discuss two significant legislative initiatives: the Justice for Angel Families Act and President Trump's proposed "One Big, Beautiful Bill." The interview was conducted by Sharla McBride and Marc Lotter.
The Justice for Angel Families Act seeks to amend the Crime Victims Fund (CVF) to extend financial support to families of victims killed by illegal aliens, including those involved in drunk driving incidents. This legislation aims to alleviate financial burdens by covering medical expenses, lost wages, and funeral costs for affected families.
During the interview, Senator Marshall expressed optimism about the progress of President Trump's "One Big, Beautiful Bill," highlighting efforts led by Speaker Mike Johnson and Chairman Jason Smith. He stated: “I think we should stop and just congratulate President Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson, Chairman Jason Smith, over there, for getting the ball this far. They need to get this across the finish line.”
Marshall emphasized potential savings for American families through measures such as no taxes on tips or overtime and no taxes on Social Security. He remarked that the bill is designed to benefit middle-class Americans.
Discussing Medicaid's future, Senator Marshall addressed concerns regarding fraud within the system. He stated: “Our hope is that we save Medicaid, that we strengthen Medicaid for those who need it the most.” He also criticized federal funding of Medicaid for illegal aliens in California and highlighted issues with individuals receiving Medicaid from multiple states.
On advocating for bipartisan support of the Justice for Angel Families Act, he said: “Well, I wish we could find a Democrat that will support it... when they’re murdered by an illegal alien when they’re hit, killed by a drunken driver... it’s just a deeper kick in the gut.”
Senator Marshall reiterated his commitment to supporting Angel Families in their time of need.
